Under the auspices of Brother George Absi, Brother Visitor of the Middle East and the Coordinator of the Brothers in the Holy Land; Brother Albert Alonzo and Dr. Suleiman Rabadi, Director of Collège des Frères in Jerusalem, the school celebrated the graduation of class 2011, which coincided with the hundred and thirty fifth anniversary of the establishment of Collège des Frères in Jerusalem. The event was held in the hall of Pope John Paul II at The Notre Dame Hotel in Jerusalem at five on the afternoon of Saturday, the fourth of June 2011.
The celebration was attended by a constellation of religious national and legal figures, parents and relatives of the graduates, school friends and faculty. The ceremony began with the graduates’ entrance on the music played by the Arab Catholic Scout Movement in Jerusalem and was followed by the Palestinian national anthem and the school one.?The master of the ceremony, Mr. Nabeel Massis, in his speech welcomed the audience and praised the pioneering role played by Frere schools in building the capacity of Palestinian youth through empowering them with the sciences they need to enable them to meet the challenges.?The school Director; Dr. Suleiman Rabadi stressed that the school administration believes in the importance of education and its quality to raise the student to face the political, economic and social challenges that threaten him/her and the leading role that our prominent school is playing for the rehabilitation of the city of Jerusalem. In the horizon of future plans, the school will develop its own capacity to provide the best possibilities and the foundations of education taking into consideration the rapid changes taking place in the world at large.?The ceremony included a series of artistic and musical performances and speeches by representatives of the graduates in three languages: Arabic, English and French. Distribution of certificates and gifts to the graduates brought the ceremony to its end. The graduation gifts were generously donated by Mr. Ibraheem Younan.
